Stubby the Elephant
an adaptation of "The Elephant's Child" from Rudyard Kipling's Just So Stories
by Peg Wetli, CLIMB, Inc.
Stubby is "full of 'satiable curiosity, and that means he asked ever so many questions." Sound familiar? Preschoolers can relate to Stubby as he makes his way through the jungle asking questions of all the characters. In this participatory play, children become snakes, lions, giraffes, and monkeys. What will happen to Stubby on his journey? Join Youth Stages as we take your preschoolers through the jungle to "the banks of the great gray-green greasy Limpopo River, all set about with fever-trees and find out."
Stubby the Elephant is performed, thrust-stage-style, in an all-purpose or function room with the audience sitting on the floor on three sides.
